One woman is dead after a two-car crash around noon on the 8800 block of North Hickory Valley Road.
A preliminary investigation indicates Erma Kimbrough was driving a 2002 silver Lexus SUV when she left the roadway on the right side of the road and struck a utility pole, according to a release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
The car then went back onto the roadway, crossed the center line and collided head on with a black 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Kimbrough was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, but she was pronounced deceased upon arrival. The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
