A man has died after an incident at Mohawk Industries in Chatsworth, Ga., Tuesday morning, officials say.
Emergency personnel found Roy Glenn Bass, 59, had been struck by a large roller. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a news release from the Chatsworth Police Department.
The cause of the incident remains unknown at this time, a spokeswoman for Mohawk Industries said.
"The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) was notified of the incident, and
the company will cooperate fully during the agency's investigation," a company statement said.
The Murray County Coroner's investigation is still open, pending autopsy results.
Bass had worked for Mohawk Industries for six years.
"We are deeply saddened by Glenn's passing, Jerry Hendrix, vice president of human resources said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time."
