After four years at First Tennessee Pavilion, the Tennessee Whiskey Festival is adopting a new date and a new location. The event, which features more than 40 whiskey, bourbon and rye tasting booths, as well as the newly named Jim Brewer Wing Competition, live music and food tastings, will take place Sept. 15 in the Glenn Miller Gardens at the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

Proceeds will benefit the Hart Gallery. The gallery on Main Street offers homeless people and other non- traditional artists an opportunity to create and sell their artwork for their benefit.

As part of the event, there will be an intimate Whiskey Supper in the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo Terminal Station dome. It will be presented by George Dickel and feature culinary creations from James Beard-nominated chef Erik Neil of Easy Bistro, Main Street Meats and Scenic City Supper Club.

There also will be a silent auction at the supper benefiting Hart Gallery. The supper is a separate ticketed event with limited tickets available.

The wing competition that is part of the festival has been renamed in honor of the late Jim Brewer. Brewer was an avid supporter of Chattanooga in general and numerous local events and charities. He had cooked and compete in the competition.

Tickets go on sale May 1 and can be purchased at www.tnwhiskeyfestival.com. For more information, email info@tnwhiskeyfestival.com.
