Authorities in Dunlap, Tennessee, say five people, including two children, were hospitalized after an SUV overturned on Cagle Mountain Monday on State Route 111.

Three adults were transported to Erlanger hospital while the children were transported to Children's Hospital at Erlanger for treatment of their injuries, according to a post on the Dunlap Fire Department's Facebook page.

The victims' conditions are not known, authorities said.

The victims were initially trapped in the SUV that ended up 40 feet down an embankment from the highway, forcing firefighters to use hydraulic rescue tools to remove the roof from the vehicle to reach the victims, officials said.

Cagle Volunteer Fire Department firefighters, Sequatchie County Sheriff's Office deputies and Sequatchie County Emergency Management Agency officials assisted at the scene.
