KNOXVILLE - A four-star prospect previously committed to South Carolina is expected to join the Tennessee football program as a late addition for the signing class of 2018, according to multiple reports.

VolQuest first reported late Wednesday afternoon that Bryce Thompson is enrolled at Tennessee for summer classes.

The addition of Thompson is a jolt for the Volunteers. Regarded as an athlete who could play receiver or defensive back, Thompson was ranked among the nation's top 300 players in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports.com and Rivals.com.

A native of Dutch Fork, South Carolina, he had been committed to the Gamecocks but never signed.
