Two people used stolen credit cards to rack up nearly $600 in fraudulent purchases at area stores in Dalton, Ga.

The victim told police that he lost his wallet while shopping at Walmart on Oct. 7.

The victim did not realize that he left his wallet at the store until the next day when he was contacted by his bank to check on suspicious charges being made from his bank accounts. The victim's bank cards were used to make purchases of $128.10 at a Dollar General, $283.09 and $56.23 at the East Walnut Avenue Walmart, and a $118.74 purchase at JJY Liquor Store.

An investigation found surveillance footage of the fraudulent purchases at the Dollar General and Walmart. One suspect, a black male wearing a light colored shirt and black athletic shorts, was present and made purchases at both locations. At the Walmart, a white female suspect with dark hair and wearing a black tank top was with the first suspect and produced a stolen card from her pocket to make the first purchase.

The pair then went outside together and the woman came back inside to make a second purchase.

Anyone who recognizes either of these suspects is asked to contact officer Katia Gonzalez at 706-278-9085, extension 9545 or by email at kgonzalez@cityofdalton-ga.gov.
