A Washington state man was arrested last week on several charges of sexual offenses against a minor following an investigation by several state and local law enforcement agencies.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents joined agents with Homeland Security and undercover officers with the Chattanooga Police Department in investigating reports of crime against children in Hamilton County.

Over the course of the investigation, agents got information about a man who was trying to arrange a videotaped encounter with a 9-year-old girl.

Law enforcement officers then determined the man to be 49-year-old Mark Gould of Port Orchard, Washington, and he was apprehended in Chattanooga.

Gould was arrested on Jan. 24 and charged with one count of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, one count of rape of a child, and one count of soliciting sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means.

He was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
