A merger is complete at last as the well-developed Southeast Air Systems now has the well-known Precision Heating & Air Conditioning under its wing. Southeast owner is Danny Baker, son of the late Denny Baker who co-owned Precision with James Lee. Baker is ready to get the word out that his business has taken on Precision and the two are set to be under the Southeast name.
"Mr. Lee was looking to retire and it was a good opportunity for me to come back in and take the business that I worked at with my dad," he said. "People recognize the Baker name, and they will know me."
Precision started in 1976 and was under the co-ownership of Denny Baker and Lee until Baker passed away in 2003. At that time, Danny started his own business at Southeast Air Systems. "I started working with Precision when I was in college about 20 years ago," he recalled. "I had other plans, but ended up staying with the company until my dad's passing and I started my own company."
Southeast Air Systems serves a broad area covering a 50- to 75-mile radius from Chattanooga. The business handles mainly residential installation, service calls and maintenance, with some commercial clients as well.
"We have a 24-hour emergency service line and offer different specials to our maintenance customers," Baker said. "Our maintenance customers are very important to us and they get things like first priority on calls, but we will serve anyone or any unit, whether or not they are an original client."
From quality repairs to a furnace or air conditioner to complete installation of a new heating or cooling system, Southeast Air Systems offers several years of HVAC sales, service and system maintenance, according to the company's website. Southeast carries popular brands of air conditioners, furnaces, air purifiers, heat pumps and humidifiers including Trane, Rheem, Lennox and Mitsubishi that clients are sure to trust and be familiar with.
Southeast Air Systems is the sole service provider for seven Home Depots' "At Home Service" locations, providing all HVAC solutions for the Hixson, Gunbarrel Road, Cleveland, Tenn.; and Fort Oglethorpe, Dalton, Blairsville and Blue Ridge, Ga., stores.
While Baker said he prides himself on the Southeast name and service, he added that he is most thankful for the legacy his father left him and vows to carry it forward.
"I'm thankful for my dad and Mr. Lee for having a good company in Precision for so many years," he explained. "I'm glad they were involved with their clients, and I hope to keep a good relationship with them and bring back the family name."
