SmallBiz: Chattanooga culinary creator caters

* Name: Culinary Creations Catering

* Location: Chattanooga, Cleveland, North Georgia and the rest of greater Chattanooga

* Products/services: Everything from full-scale catering to small intimate

dinner parties; specializing in weddings, corporate events, holiday parties, children's cooking classes, pharmaceutical and sales lunches

* Age: 3 years old

* Startup investment: $10,000

* Annual sales: $30,000 in the first year of operation, doubling ever since

* Target market: Owner Lee Cureton said that although she primarily services the personal market currently, she'd like to expand her business to include more nonprofit groups and corporations.

* Biggest hurdle: Wearing so many hats can be difficult, Cureton said. Being owner, accountant, financier, deliverer and chef keeps her busy.

* Biggest reward: She loves to cook, and enjoys being in a profession where she gets to do that every day.

* Challenges in the future: Expanding at the same rate to service new clients, expanding the scope of her business and what she offers, while keeping overhead low is going to be a challenge, Cureton said.

* Lesson learned: Time management as a small business owner is key, she said. While juggling many jobs can seem overwhelming, prioritizing and keeping organized keeps everything under control.

* Five-year goal: Her dream is to create one or two products that turn into signature items, things she becomes known for, that will one day be sold in supermarkets at restaurants around the world.
