Under construction: The Arbors

Name: The Arbors

Location: The neighborhood is off Bonny Oaks Drive, next to Silverdale Baptist Church and about a mile from the Volkswagen plant, a new Erlanger location and Interstate 75. The subdivision is served by Bess T. Shephard Elementary, Tyner Middle and Tyner High schools.

Status: Six homes are available and 65 have been built out of a planned total of 104. The neighborhood will have an open house today from 2 to 6 p.m. with 31 lots available for homebuilding.

Price: Houses cost $189,000 to $235,000, and are available with 1,400 to 2,500 square feet.

Features: Hardwood floors, ceramic tile bathrooms and granite countertops come standard in each house. Recessed lighting and custom cabinets keep things visible and organized. Energy costs are kept low with TVA energy right certification, and homes come with dual climate systems: one for upstairs and one for the first floor. All homes feature stone or brick in front, dimensional shingles and craftsman styling. Some homes have wooded back yards, and all have porches or decks.

Amenities: The neighborhood is centrally located, but is quiet and secluded because of the forest surrounding it. Lighted, matching mailboxes are offset from sidewalks on both sides of the street, and all homes are protected with installed alarm systems. On the interiors, stainless steel appliances, custom cabinets and a large number of closets are included, and little touches like a neighborhood common area and flat, quarter-acre yards help homeowners take advantage of the outdoors.
