Bi-Lo Charities on Tuesday gave $106,000 to the Chattanooga and Cleveland Area Chapters of the American Red Cross.

The donation is the result of funds raised by Bi-Lo shoppers and Bi-Lo vendor partners in response to the devastating tornadoes that hit the North Georgia and Chattanooga areas in April.

"Our generous shoppers stepped up to help the two Red Cross organizations provide needed assistance to families whose homes have been impacted by these storms," said Carol Browning, executive director for the grocery chain's charities.
