Name: Get Out Chattanooga

Product: Monthly magazine that highlights outdoor sports, activities and lifestyles in the Chattanooga region.

Owner: Target Publishing Group, a division of the Chattanooga Publishing Co. which publishes the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Circulation: More than 15,000 copies of the magazine will be distributed every month at more than 60 locations and street racks throughout the region.

History: The preview issue of Get Out Chattanooga hits the streets today after nearly a year of planning and development. "Similar to when we launched Chatter magazine (in December 2009), we felt like a monthly magazine dedicated to a very targeted audience would have wide appeal," said Jason Taylor, the newspaper's president and publisher of the new magazine. "Already, with just the sneak preview issue on the streets, we've been inundated with positive feedback so we're very encouraged. We look forward to bringing more attention to this ever-growing part of our community."

Target audience: "Our focus is on active lifestyles and outdoor activity ranging from extreme sports like mountain biking, climbing and whitewater paddling to other outdoor activities such as camping, fishing and bird watching and fishing," said Mark Jones, executive editor of the magazine. "We're trying to touch on all sorts of outdoor pursuits. We also will be featuring people who live here who are doing amazing things. We think it will appeal to both those active in these sports or those just interested in what's going on outdoors in our area."
