Automotive parts retailer Pep Boys has closed its longtime Brainerd store and is referring customers to its new Gunbarrel Road site.
The company said earlier this year that it expected to invest more than $1 million in the new store in the Hamilton Village shopping center across from Hamilton Place mall.
Officials said then that the new store wasn't designed to be a relocation of its Brainerd Road location, but they added that the stores' trade areas overlapped.
