photo Jonathon Peternell interviews Tuesday with Leslie Cameron of MAU Workforce Solutions, looking to hire workers for a supplier to Volkswagen.

MAU Workforce Solutions will host a job fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at 6150 Shallowford Road, Suite 104, to fill immediate job openings at an automotive manufacturer in Chattanooga.

MAU does not specify the employer, but Volkswagen of America and its growing supplier network are planning to hire more than 1,000 workers in the Chattanooga area this year. The jobs MAU wants to fill pay $11 an hour. Applicants must submit to a background check and drug screen and need at least one year of stable work history, experience in a process-oriented environment and an ability to work in teams and to rotate between first and third shifts. Job fair attendees will be interviewed on a first-come, first-served basis for consideration in the available positions.

Applicants are also encouraged to schedule their interview time slot prior to the job fair at www.mau.com/june5.

MAU, which stands for Management, Analysis and Utilization Inc., has employed hundreds of contract workers for BMW's auto assembly plant in Spartanburg, S.C.
