Car parts supplier Yashima opens in Chattanooga

A Japanese company that plans to supply parts used to make Nissan's new Leaf electric vehicle has opened a sales and marketing office in Chattanooga.

Jack Sayed, president of Yashima USA, said the office on East Main Street initially will house himself and two others. In 2013, he expects there will be four to five people working out of the office.

Sayed said the company is looking at potentially opening a warehousing operation in Chattanooga that could employ 10 to 15 people, and there eventually could be some assembly done in the city.
