A Wolfsburg, Germany, information technology company that came to Chattanooga two years ago after work began on the Volkswagen plant plans to add 116 jobs over three years.

Brandon Miller, business development manager for Honigsberg & Duvel in Chattanooga, on Tuesday declined to say if VW, also based in Wolfsburg, is a client.

But Miller said the company works with automakers in the South and it's aiming to bolster business with health care and financial clients along with those in government and education.

"We're working hard to gain visibility and get our name out there," he said.

Honigsberg & Duvel, which now has 13 employees here, plans to invest about $600,000 mostly in equipment, though some could go into facilities, Miller said. Currently, the company's Chattanooga office is at One Central Plaza on Georgia Avenue downtown.

Miller said most of the people it adds will work at the clients' locations.

"We'll have some support staff," he said. "We'll add people at headquarters."

Charles Wood, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce's vice president of economic development, said it helped Honigsberg & Duvel get oriented to Chattanooga when it first arrived.

"Led by our existing industry department, this high-tech project is representative of the Chamber's continued focus on growing high-wage jobs in the Chattanooga region," Wood said in a statement.

Miller said the state is providing training incentives for new personnel.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam said the training aid is part of the state's effort "to offer the right environment and partnerships to ensure those jobs are created here."

Honigsberg & Duvel Corp. specializes in consulting, project management and outsourcing. It's part of H&D International Group, a global concern of more than 1,600 employees and 22 offices.
