Petco upgrades Gunbarrel store

The Petco at Hamilton Place mall will complete a $734,000 renovation and move down the road by the end of April.

The store will move from 2115 Gunbarrel Road into a newly-vacated space between the Best Buy and Carnival Shoes on Gunbarrel Road. The area, previously used by Best Buy, opened up in December when Best Buy downsized its square footage.


TDEC surveys small businesses

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation is asking small buisnesses to identify obstacles they face in complying with environmental regulations. Responses to a 10-question online survey will be used to make changes at TDEC that can help small businesses protect the environment and comply with the environmental laws that regulate them, agency spokeswoman Meredith Benton said. Hixson water best in region

Hixson Utility District won the "Best Tasting Water Contest" in the 12-county Southeast Tennessee region, according to the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts. Hixson's water beat out Union Fork-Bakewell Utility District, Etowah Utilities, the City of Dayton and Ocoee Utility District.
