Chattanooga's NA Industries laying off 30 workers

NA Industries, which has a chemical plant in Chattanooga, is closing part of its operations in the city and laying off about 30 employees.

A decision was made to move some production from Chattanooga to the Houston, Texas, area where the company has newer facilities, according to the Japanese-owned venture.

However, plans are to continue to produce fine chemicals at the Chattanooga plant located at Centre South Riverport.

The company said in a news release that the business is reviewing the possibility of adding new product in Chattanooga in the future.

NA Industries has operated in Chattanooga for about 22 years.
