Frank Trivieri, executive vice president of sales for Volkswagen of America since 2011, is the latest of the top officials to leave the company, according to Automotive News.

Trivieri left after the brand's U.S. sales dropped 6.9 percent while the overall market rose 8 percent in 2013.

Also, the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation said an appeal is planned for Chattanooga VW workers whose cases were recommended for dismissal after an investigation by the National Labor Relations Board.

According to the foundation, an appeal will go to the Office of the General Counsel at the NLRB in Washington, D.C., after NLRB staff recommended last week that the charges against VW by the Right to Work foundation be dismissed.
