B+M Surface Systems, headquartered in Germany, has set up a North American presence serving the U.S., Mexico and Canada from Chattanooga and plans to add up to 25 new jobs.

B + M supplies fully integrated turn-key paint lines and application systems, serving automotive suppliers as well as aviation, consumer electronics, agricultural machinery and other industries.

Located on Shallowford Road, the facility's long-term objectives include commission and assembly of paint lines, working with local sub-suppliers, modifying existing paint lines and supporting North American customers.

"Chattanooga offers excellent infrastructure, a well-educated workforce and close proximity to our customers," said Manuel Gollbach, chief executive of the B+M Chattanooga location. "It's an ideal location for optimum customer support in the North American market."

"We're thrilled that B+M chose Chattanooga as their first North American location," said Charles Wood, vice president of economic development at the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber worked with city's economic development staff on this project, the business group said.
