A Dalton, Ga.-based company that serves brands and retailers by producing displays and visual merchandising is expanding in Chattanooga by investing $15 million and creating 100 new jobs.

"We're excited to grow our presence in Chattanooga and create jobs locally," said Bryan Hair, Marketing Alliance Group's chief executive.

A 500,000-square-foot facility the company has purchased off Amnicola Highway will be Marketing Alliance's third in Chattanooga. The privately held business has other locations in the region in Calhoun, Ga., and Dalton.

The new facility will expand the company's wood and metal manufacturing for major home improvement stores and the floorcovering sector.

"They service the core of the floorcovering industry," said Bill Kilbride, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce's chief executive.

Kilbride said that some of the space the company has purchased will go toward manufacturing while the remainder will be used for shipping, distribution and assembly, he said.

"They're very service oriented," Kilbride said. He said the company already employs about 100 people in the city.

EPB, TVA and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development assisted in pulling together incentives for the company's expansion.

"When an existing company expands, they are not just making an investment in our community, they are investing in our people," said Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke. "These are 100 good, middle-class jobs created for Chattanoogans."

The company has over 1.5 million square feet in 11 manufacturing facilities located in Georgia and Tennessee. The company currently employs over 1,200 American workers. It also has offices and personnel in both China and India.

Founded in 1984, Marketing Alliance Group began as a flooring sample manufacturer and has since grown to offer a top-to-bottom approach to retail strategy for a variety of industries.

"Marketing Alliance Group is a longstanding employer that has used our local flooring industry as a springboard to broader success," said Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger.
