The share of renters paying more than half of their income for rent and utilities every month is highest among Tennessee's biggest cities in these counties:
1. Shelby County (Memphis) - 46,064 households, or 30.7 percent of the county's 150,252 households with rental units.
2. Hamilton County (Chattanooga) - 12,778 households, or 27.7 percent of the county's 46,171 rental units.
3. Knox County (Knoxville) - 17,736, or 26.4 percent of the county's 67,259 rental units
4. Davidson County (Nashville) - 26,126 households, or 22 percent of the county's 118,657 rental units.
