The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and green|spaces have launched a regional sustainability website highlighting best practices in the region.

"The new sustainability website tells our community's sustainability story," said Amanda Ellis, the Chamber's communications coordinator. "The site provides a snapshot of sustainability projects in the area and credits local organizations striving to preserve resources."

Chattanooga area sustainability experts and Chamber staff collaborated with city and Hamilton County representatives for three months to develop the site, which presents success stories as well as best practices for making sustainable business decisions. The site details the area's sustainable projects and eco-tourism, as well as sustainability related news and events. Also featured is a detailed timeline that charts Chattanooga's progress from 1969 to present day.

"We designed the site with collaboration in mind," said Dawn Hjelseth, director of development for green|spaces. "The new site provides a framework and a starting point for news, events and case studies. We invite businesses and not-for-profits to share success stories through images and practical advice on how sustainability helps us create and maintain a high quality of life for our region."

Green|spaces is nonprofit based in Chattanooga that works toward regional sustainability.
