Walmart Neighborhood Market in Dalton to hire 95 workers

Walmart has begun hiring the first of up to 95 associates to staff the Walmart Neighborhood Market slated to open this fall on Walnut Avenue in Dalton, Ga.

The $4.4 million grocery store in the Bry-Man's Plaza shopping center will open this fall on the site of what was once a Winn-Dixie grocery store.

According to store manager Allan Rittenhouse, the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates.

"Walmart is a company with many opportunities for professional growth, and we are excited about finding wonderful new associates to join us," Rittenhouse said in a statement today.

Walmart has opened a temporary hiring center in the Walnut Square Mall located at 816 Walnut Square Blvd, Suite #37, to hire workers for the new 42,000-square-foot grocery store, which is being developed by Polestar Development in Chattanooga.

Applications will be accepted Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Interested applicants may also apply online here.

Walmart will offer a job to any eligible U.S. veteran honorably discharged from active duty since the Veterans Welcome Home Commitment launched on Memorial Day 2013. Interested veterans may find out more here.

The majority of new associates will begin work in September to help prepare the store for its grand opening.

Walmart opened the first of its Neighborhood Market, stand-alone grocery stores in Fort Oglethorpe in January. Other stores are planned in Hixson, Middle Valley, East Brainerd and East Ridge.
