Amazon is at it again.

The giant Internet retailer is creating 150 more full-time jobs in the region - this time for its Charleston, Tenn., distribution center.

The new hourly positions, which call for picking, packing and shipping customer orders, will push the Seattle-based company's headcount in Charleston to more than 750 full-time workers, said company spokeswoman Nina Lindsey.

The new jobs are due to growth, according to Amazon.

Last month, Amazon announced 500 more jobs for its Chattanooga center. In March, it unveiled 400 new jobs at the Enterprise South industrial park site. The company now has more than 3,000 workers in Chattanooga. That's since it opened its location there in 2011.

"That's all due to customer demand," Lindsey said last month. "Customers continue to order on Amazon.com."

To fill the new Bradley County jobs, Amazon is hosting a job fair at its Charleston fulfillment center on Monday. Applicants are asked to bring a photo ID and proof of education, such as a high school diploma, a military diploma, GED or equivalent.

Pay for the positions wasn't announced, but earlier job fairs offered candidates up to $11.75 per hour.

Charles Wood, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce's vice president for economic development, said Amazon is one of the fastest-growing companies in the United States and the business group played a role in its recruitment.

Wood said he's "excited about their continuing growth trends" in the region.

Amazon invested about $139 million in its Chattanooga and Bradley County centers. It also has built centers in Murfreesboro and Lebanon, Tenn. The company has opened a sortation center in Nashville.

Amazon said employees are immediately eligible for comprehensive benefits that include health insurance, 401(k) with 50 percent match, bonuses, and company stock awards.

It also offers full-time employees programs like Career Choice, where the company will pre-pay 95 percent of tuition for courses related to in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a career at Amazon.
