Hundreds of job seekers turned out this morning looking to fill 500 new fulltime positions at Amazon's Chattanooga fulfillment center.

People started standing line well before the 10 a.m. start time at the Brainerd Crossroads facility at Brainerd Baptist Church.

Amazon spokeswoman Nina Lindsey said there's a lot of interest in the jobs, which are hourly positions in which employees will pick, pack and ship customer orders.

"As long as they meet the qualifications, they'll walk out with jobs today," she said.

Applicants are asked to bring a photo ID and proof of education (high school diploma, DD-214, GED or equivalent).

The job fair is slated to run until 7 p.m. today.
