Chattanooga State Community College has been designated a VETS Campus by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) in recognition of the school's support of veteran students. Chattanooga State is one of only 12 institutions in Tennessee to have the distinction of being named a VETS Campus. Other THEC-certified campuses include Cleveland State Community College and Middle Tennessee State University.

Currently, Chattanooga State provides services to over 250 students who have previously served or are currently serving in the armed forces. The VETS Campus designation is part of the Tennessee Veterans Education Transition Support (VETS) Act of 2014 and honors colleges that include annual surveys of veteran students, targeted orientation programs, and mentoring and support services developed specifically for students who are veterans.

Tennessee Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris will present the VETS Campus certificate to Chattanooga State at a ceremony at the campus on Oct 23.
