CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- Candy maker Mars Inc. is launching an M&M's World popup store near the company's plant in Cleveland in southeastern Tennessee.
Starting Wednesday and running through Nov. 1, the store will sell M&M's merchandise with a "Made in Cleveland" logo. Proceeds will benefit MainStreet Cleveland, a community organization aimed at revitalizing and promoting the city's downtown area.
The store will feature similar items available at M&M's World stores in New York, Las Vegas, Orlando, London and Shanghai.
Mars in 2013 completed a $67 million expansion of the 650,000-square-foot Cleveland plant. The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported at the time that the plant could make up to 330 million M&M's per day and 72 tons of Twix in 12 hours.
The factory first opened in 1979.
