An electrical outlet in the electronics section at the Best Buy store in Hixson apparently shorted out this morning, sparking a small fire and forcing closure of the store for cleanup, a news release states.
The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to the store at 5591 Highway 153 at about 8 a.m., the department stated in the release.
Store employees had put out the fire with a dry-powder extinguisher and isolated power to the outlet involved.
No one was injured and the building and its contents were not damaged, but the store was expected to be closed for several hours for cleanup.
