Under Construction: Hefferlin + Kronenberg Architects to move into new building

' Project: Hefferlin + Kronenberg Architects will move down the street from its current location at 525 W. Main St. into the former Custom Werks Graphics building in the 1200 block of East Main Street that it bought in March of last year. "We like Main Street, and we want to be a catalyst for urban development," said Heidi Hefferlin, one of the principals in the architectural firm. "We like the building, too."

' Size: 17,000 square feet.

' Contractor: P&C Construction, Inc.

' Engineer: Structural: March Adams & Associates Inc.; mechanical, electrical and plumbing: Campbell & Associates, Inc.

' Architect: Hefferlin + Kronenberg Architects

' History: Hefferlin + Kronenberg Architects was founded in 1999 and has 15 employees, six of whom are architects, making it one of Chattanooga's largest such firms.

' Scope: Hefferlin + Kronenberg Architects will share its new building with Set in Stone, which makes concrete countertops. The architectural firm will be in the front, and Set in Stone has the back of the building, with a street address of 1220 E. Main St.
