The states with the least real-estate taxes on the median value home in each state were:

1. Alabama — $673 in taxes on median home worth $123,800

2. West Virginia — $590 in taxes on median home worth $100,200

3. Louisiana — $672 in taxes on median home value of $140,400

4. Arkansas — $673 in taxes on median home of $108,700

5. South Carolina — $790 in taxes on median home of $137,600

6. Mississippi — $790 in taxes on median home of $100,800

7. Oklahoma — $998 in taxes on median home of $115,000

8. Kentucky — $1,018 in taxes on median home worth $121,600

9. Tennessee — $1,046 in taxes on median home worth $139,900

10. Indiana — $1,075 in taxes on median home worth $122,700
