Semi-trailer plant starts hiring workers in Georgia

The Georgia Department of Labor will help Vanguard National Trailer recruit the first of nearly 400 workers the company expects to eventually hire for its new manufacturing facility set to open in August in the Dade County Industrial Park in Trenton, Ga.

The recruitment for the semi-trailer manufacturing plant is scheduled for Wednesday, May 18, from 3-7 p.m. at the American Legion Post No. 106 at 13205 North Main St. in Trenton, Ga. The company will be recruiting for accounting managers, assembly-line associates, human resources managers, manufacturing supervisors, maintenance associates, production support engineers, purchasing/buyer agents, and senior human resources generalists.

All applicants must be at least 18 years old and also have a high school diploma, or a General Education Diploma (GED). The accounting manager must also have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, while the human resources generalist must hold a bachelor's degree.

The level of experience for the production workers ranges from three months for the assembly-line workers to four years for the maintenance associates.

Construction of the the 350,000-square-foot, $30 million manufacturing plant began last year. When in full production, the plant will crank out 10,000 semi-trailers annually.
