Robinson joins development team at Food Bank

The Chattanooga Area Food Bank has hired Rob Robinson as a new development officer.

Robinson will be instrumental in helping set up the Food Bank's planned giving and endowment program to combat hunger and promote better nutrition across the region.

Robinson was formerly director of gift and estate planning for Baylor School for 17 years before retiring in 2016. He has spent the last year as a planned giving consultant to non-profits in the Chattanooga area.

"Combining Rob's expertise and passion for our mission with the dedication of taking our development efforts to another level, his ability will propel the Food Bank to fulfill our mission of leading a network of community partners in eliminating hunger and promoting better nutrition by 2025," said Gina Crumbliss, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

Oglesby joins board of Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area recently elected City of Chattanooga's Councilman Erskine Oglesby Jr. to its board of directors to support its mission of building strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter for working families in the Chattanooga area.

Oglesby has served as president of 100 Black Men of Chattanooga, associate director of corporate engagement at the United Way of Greater Chattanooga, and as business services representative for the Southeast Tennessee Development District's Tennessee Career Center. Prior to relocating to Chattanooga in 2007, Oglesby served in executive level positions with the YMCA in Durham and Charlotte, N.C.; Boston, Mas.; and Jackson, Mis.

"As Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga continues to build on the strength and expertise of its leadership to ensure the future growth of our organization, we are honored to have Councilman Erskine Oglesby Jr. joining our Board of Directors," said David Butler, president of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area.

Vision names Peavy area sales director

Ellen Peavy has been promoted to area director of sales and marketing for Vision Hospitality in Chattanooga. She will oversee the sales and marketing efforts for the Hilton Garden Inn Chattanooga/Downtown, Hampton Inn & Suites Chattanooga/Downtown, and Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chattanooga/Downtown.

"Ellen has grown with Vision over the past several years and has been a model of leadership," said Catherine Chamberlain, regional director of sales and marketing for Vision.

Sanchez joins La Paz as business coordinator

La Paz Chattanooga announces that Lily Sanchez is joining the La Paz team, serving as the organization's business development and communications coordinator. She will coordinate the organization's communications functions and assist with the administrative duties related to revenue generation and the support of the Compañía membership-based initiative.

Sanchez comes to La Paz Chattanooga after serving as executive assistant to the executive director at The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga. She is a 2016 graduate of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and is currently is pursuing a graduate degree in nonprofit management from the University of Central Florida. While at UTC, Sanchez served as the Spanish Language Editor of The University Echo, the university's student newspaper and has contributed to Noticias Libres, the former Spanish weekly of the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

"As a first generation immigrant, I have been inspired and moved by the work the La Paz staff and volunteers have done throughout the years to make Chattanooga a more inclusive city," said Sanchez.

Sanchez's heritage is of the Dominican Republic, where both of her parents lived until moving to the United States.

Whitmire, Gotliffe join Southeastern Tool & Die

Southeastern Tool & Design "SE Tool" has named Justin Whitmire as vice president of engineering and operations, and Andrew Gotliffe as machine design engineer.

In Whitmire's new role, he will head engineering and operations teams. Whitmire previously worked for seven years with Dover Corporation in leadership and management roles, most recently as vice president of customer experience. He received his MBA from University of Kentucky and B.A. in economics from The College of Wooster.

Gotliffe joins the increasing engineering workforce, designing fixtures, tooling and machine components for Chattanooga-based manufacturing companies. He previously worked with Westinghouse Electric for seven years as a mechanical engineer. He earned his mechanical engineering degree from York College of Pennsylvania.

Lou Ziebold, president of SE Tool, said the new hire "brings to us and our customers, tremendous experience and integrity."

Salmon heads women services at Parkridge East

Lori Salmon has been appointed women's services director at Parkridge East Hospital. Salmon has worked at Parkridge East for 11 years, most recently serving as clinical coordinator of the hospital's Labor and Delivery department.

"Lori has a great vision for nursing growth and enhancement for our Women's Services department," said Lynn Whelan, assistant chief nursing officer at Parkridge East Hospital. "She is committed to ensuring safe, high-quality and evidence-based patient care."

Salmon earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Western Governors University and RN certification from Georgia Northwestern Technical College. She recently was selected to participate in TriStar Division of HCA's Emerging Leader Program.

As director of Women's Services, Salmon will oversee both Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby units. She will work closely with Kelly Hersey, MD, director of the level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Parkridge East, which provides care for babies born at less than 28 weeks gestation or with severe or complex medical conditions.

Hedges heads development at Resource 1

Resource 1 Tier 3 Data Security has added Alexis Hedges to manage its regional and national business development efforts.

Resource 1, a regional leader in secure, on-site data destruction and sustainable IT asset recycling services, currently serves enterprise class data facilities in Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Illinois and has recently expanded its reach to California.

The firm manages the secure EOL data security for a variety of clients and partners with the Better Business Bureau in its bi-annual 'Protect Your Identity' program where it donates its assets to destroy the data-bearing devices for local consumers at no charge.
