SmartBank, which acquired the former FSG bank branch in Cleveland, Tenn., last month, announced today that it has added two veteran Cleveland bankers to lead SmartBank's entry into Bradley County.

Matt Jenne, a 23-year banker who previously was market leader for United Community Bank, was named senior vice president and Cleveland market leader for SmartBank. He currently serves as chairman of the board for The United Way of the Ocoee Region, and recently completed his term as president of the Cleveland Family YMCA.

Beau Burris, a 24-year banker who was previously vice president of commercial lending for United Community Bank, was appointed first vice president and relationship manager for SmartBank. Burris erves as treasurer for Junior Achievement of the Ocoee Region and president for the Cleveland/Bradley Business Incubator.

SmartBank President Billy Carroll said the new managers "have already hit the ground running.

"Their combined years of experience in the financial industry along with their wealth of knowledge and Bradley County roots give SmartBank tremendous upside potential in its newest market," Caroll said in a statement today.

SmartFinancial Inc., the parent of SmartBank, said the purchase of the Keith Street branch formerly owned by FSG added about $33 million in customer deposits and $32 million in loans and other assets. The acquisition of the Cleveland branch is part of SmartBank's strategy of filling in some of the banking markets between Knoxville, where SmartBank is based, and Chattanooga, where Cornerstone Bank was started and grew before merging with SmartBank last year.

FSG opened the Keith Street office in Cleveland in 2005 and relocated and upgraded the branch in 2015 into one of its high-tech, drive-through facilities. FSG is preparing to adopt the name of its new owner, Atlantic Capital Bank, and is consolidating and limiting some of its consumer branches in favor of its mobile and merchant-targeted banking strategy.

Jenne said SmartBank is a community bank with a wide array of products and services for businesses and consumers.

"SmartBank's dynamic banking model is a perfect fit for the Bradley County market," he said.
