AutoZone to hire 12,000 employees by April

AutoZone, Inc,., the Memphis-based automotive retail chain that operates more than 5,300 stores across the country, announced today that it will add 12,000 full- and part-time employees by April to help staff its stores across the country.

AutoZone operates seven stores in Hamilton County, two in Cleveland, two in Dalton, Ga., and other stores in Ringgold, Ga., Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., Athens, Tenn., Etowah, Tenn., and Pikeville, Tenn. The retailer said most of the new hiring will be at stores in Atlanta, Dallas, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio, New York City, New Orleans, Pittsburg and Oakland, Calif.

AutoZone is the latest U.S. business to tout its hiring plans as Donald Trump becomes president. Trump has praised General Motors, Ford, Carrier, Walmart and other businesses that also have announced expansion or hiring plans in the past month.

Autozone said it will be hiring sales representatives, delivery drivers, parts sales managers, commercial sales managers, store managers and hub specialists. Applications must be submitted online at the AutoZone careers site, www.autozone.com/careers.

AutoZone said it has hired more than 10,000 current and former U. S. Military Service members since 2015 and has a goal of hiring more than 15,000 additional transitioning service members and military veterans by 2020.
