The White House is announcing the first wave of U.S. attorney candidates to replace the dozens forced out by President Donald Trump months ago.

Among the candidates Trump intends to nominate are Jessie Liu, the current deputy general counsel for the Treasury Department, and Richard W. Moore, the inspector general for the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Liu will be nominated to serve in the District of Columbia, while Moore would serve in the Southern District of Alabama.

Moore was the first to be Presidentially appointed to his position as TVA's inspector general in May 2003. From 1985 until his confirmation as Inspector General, Moore served as Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama. During that time, he prosecuted criminal cases involving white-collar crimes, official corruption, and general federal crimes. He also served as Coordinator of the Anti-Terrorism Task Force in the Southern District, as Senior Litigation Counsel, and as Chief of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney's Office.
