Erlanger names Gibson chief strategy officer
Erlanger Health System has appointed Matthew A. Gibson as the hospital's chief strategy officer.
Gibson comes to Erlanger after working as executive vice president of business development and chief strategy officer for East Jefferson General Hospital, a community health system in Metairie and New Orleans, La. Gibson previously served as senior vice president, chief strategy and business development officer for KentuckyOne Health, chief business development officer for the University of Mississippi Heath Care and in a regional leadership role for IASIS Healthcare in Texas and Louisiana.
"Matt has an extremely impressive track record in overseeing strategic planning and business development initiatives for healthcare organizations in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Kentucky," Erlanger CEO Kevin M. Spiegel said. "For the past 10 years he has distinguished himself in developing noteworthy strategic planning processes for pediatric and adult hospitals and service lines."
Gibson is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He holds a master's degree in health care administration and an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Prior to his time at UAB, Gibson earned a bachelor's of science in health services administration from Auburn University.
UT Alumni salute Bryan as 2016 Network Volunteer
The University of Tennessee Alumni Association's (UTAA) Engagement Committee selected David Bryan as the 2016 Network Volunteer of the Year.
Bryan is a 1980 UT Martin graduate with a bachelor of science degree in biology. He currently works as a financial advisor with Summit Brokerage Services, Inc. in Chattanooga.
Aside from his work on the Chattanooga Network board, Bryan has been a member of the UT Martin Alumni Council (1992), UT Martin Development Council (2000-03), UT Alumni Association Board of Governors (2009; 2014-17) and UT Martin Skyhawk Club Board of Directors (2013).
"David has been a member of the Chattanooga Region UT Alumni Network board since 2013 and has consistently shown his dedication to his alma mater and the UT System. Always willing to help with an event, (Bryan) has been a role model for new board members and a reliable leader for the board," said Jackie Wise Perreco, senior director for programs and marketing for the UTAA.
