Carter joins Pinnacle as senior VP, advisor
Jeff Carter has joined Pinnacle Financial Partners as a senior vice president and financial advisor at the bank's Broad Street office in Chattanooga.
Carter brings 15 years of financial services experience to his role. Before joining Pinnacle he spent eight years with First Citizens Bank, where he was a senior vice president and Chattanooga market executive. Previously he worked with Regions Bank, where he served as a business banker.
Carter earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Memphis.
He is a member and sponsor of the Chattanooga Area Dental Society. Carter is also a past board member of March of Dimes of Chattanooga.
Pinnacle began serving Chattanooga in 2015 when it acquired CapitalMark Bank & Trust.
Kleiner named VP at Office Furniture
Office Furniture Warehouse has promoted Mark Kleiner to the vice president of finance position.
In October 2017, Kleiner joined Office Furniture Warehouse, where he oversees the company's finance, human resources and facilities functions.
Kleiner grew up on Signal Mountain. He graduated from Baylor School, holds a degree in communications and a master's degree in political science. His varied background has gleaned experience in both the public and private sectors, as a manufacturing executive and in local commercial banking.

Office Furniture Warehouse LLC is winner of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce's 2014 Small Business of the Year Award.
Scruggs to head PEF development
Public Education Foundation has selected Donyel Scruggs as the organization's vice president for development. Scruggs will lead the nonprofit's fundraising and communications strategies, and develop and expand partnerships to strengthen PEF's efforts to transform public education so students succeed in learning and in life.
Scruggs earned a B.A. in Communication and a Master of Public Administration from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She serves on the boards of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, UTC Public Service Advisory and Young Professionals of Chattanooga. Donyel is a 2017 Leadership Chattanooga graduate, a United Way of Chattanooga Emerging Leader and a member of the Chattanooga Women's Leadership Institute.
"Donyel's experience in development and her commitment to providing life-changing opportunities to young people convinced us that she is an ideal candidate to join PEF's team," said Dr. Dan Challener, president of the Public Education Foundation.
Martinez, Matzelle named regional directors
Vision Hospitality has named Kremena Matzell as regional director of revenue management and Patty Martinez as regional director of operations.
Matzell joins Vision with over 10 years of revenue management experience in the hospitality industry. Originally from Bulgaria, she earned her degree in international business from the University of Economics — Varna and later her MBA in finance and financial management services from Lewis University.
Martinez has worked to master all aspects of the hotel business from pastry chef to general manager for Marriott and Hilton full and select service hotels since 1995 and joined Vision in 2012 as the general manager for the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton in downtown Chattanooga. In her most recent position as the general manager for Vision's DoubleTree by Hilton Chattanooga/Downtown, she exceeded expectations and led the team to receive various industry recognitions.
