Widgets & Stone names Meredith
Widgets & Stone, a leading graphic design and branding studio in the Southeast, has selected Mandy Lamb Meredith as design director.
She comes to Widgets & Stone from Birmingham, where she worked as design director, designer and writer for clients including Regions Bank, JW Marriott, Cracker Barrel, Mannington, Royal Cup Coffee, Alys Beach, Southern Progress and Children's Hospital of Alabama.
"Mandy is a national-quality design talent," said Paul Rustand, founder and creative director of Widgets & Stone.
Local business owner a finalist
Stief Counts, owner of The Counts Co. in Chattanooga, was among 12 national finalists for Contractor of the Year 2012.
Sponsored by construction equipment manufacturer Caterpillar and construction trade magazine Equipment World, Counts attended the awards banquet March 10 in Las Vegas.
Each Contractor of the Year finalist was selected on the basis of company achievements, endorsements from customers and vendors and the contributions the company has made to the construction industry.
Mizell receives requalification
Fine art appraiser Diane Mizell recently completed the process to maintain her accredited member status with the International Society of Appraisers.
The Signal Mountain woman successfully completed all requirements of the ISA requalification process.
"Maintaining proper professional credentials is essential for personal property appraisers who are dedicated to excellence in their field," said Michelle Stearns of ISA.
Parkridge Medical Center adds Was
David Was has joined the Parkridge Medical Center leadership staff as associate administrator, said Darrell Moore, president and CEO of Parkridge Health System.
Was has worked with Parkridge parent company HCA since 2005. Was comes to Parkridge from a position as associate administrator at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
"We are excited to welcome David Was as the newest member of the Parkridge Health System administrative team," said Moore.
UBS adviser earns designation
Mark C. Ingle, of the Chattanooga branch of UBS Financial Services Inc., has attained his Certified Financial Planner designation after completing an intensive program aimed at training advisers to better understand and address the needs of their clients.

Ingle is vice president of investments at UBS and has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry.
Lewis gets sales distinction
Lisa Lewis of LaFayette, Ga., a representative of Modern Woodmen of America, has been named to Modern Woodmen's President's Cabinet.
The distinction recognizes her achievement in life insurance sales and her ranking among the organization's top representatives nationwide.
Founded in 1883, Modern Woodmen of America offers financial products and fraternal member benefits.
Accounting firm adds four
Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain PC, one of the Southeast's largest accounting and business consulting firms, has added four members to its shared services team in Nashville. The shared services group provides support for the LBMC Family of Companies.
Bob Armentrout has been hired as a lead developer within the project management team of shared services. He has more than 20 years' experience integrating technology with the needs of accounting and financial departments.
Mary Thompson has joined LBMC as a business analyst within the internal technology arm of LBMC's shared services. She has experience with systems analysis, design, testing and implementation, database reporting and analysis in the retail, restaurant and higher education industries.
Annie Woods is a project manager with the shared services group. Woods has assisted clients in both the private and government sectors with information technology projects ranging from enterprise level custom software to internal data center moves.
Amanda Rathe has joined LBMC's internal accounting department as a senior staff accountant. She previously served as accounting manager for Tennessee Wire Technologies where she gained expertise in financial statement presentation and controls.
Area203 Digital names art chief
Area203 Digital has named Charlie Gann as a new art director.
Gann, who has extensive experience in photography, graphic design, brand identity and web development, will lead a team of designers and copywriters to produce content for the local digital marketing agency.
"I am excited to have an opportunity to further develop Area203's 'big-picture' approach," said Gann.
Chris Enter, creative director at Area203, said he is excited about Gann's potential as art director.
"Charlie has grown exponentially since being hired," he said.
DuPre chairs commercial arm
Bill DuPre has been picked to chair the commercial department of Miller & Martin PLLC.
