In recognition of over 50 years of service, Chattem Inc. has dedicated its manufacturing facilities at 3350 Broad St. in Chattanooga to B. Derrill Pitts.
Pitts retired from Chattem effective Dec. 31, 2011, as vice president of operations.
Also, John Stroud has been promoted to the role of executive vice president at Chattem. Stroud has been with Chattem for six years and has expanded duties over product development and analytical research and development in addition to his marketing responsibilities.
Robert Long has been promoted to executive vice president. Long has been with Chattem for six years and assumes additional responsibilities over quality assurance, human resources and technical transfers in addition to his oversight of finance, manufacturing operations and supply, procurement and information systems.
Blair Ramey has been promoted to senior vice president of corporate development and media. Ramey has been with Chattem 14 years and is responsible for identifying growth opportunities and executing Chattem's growth strategy along with overseeing media buying activities.
Dean Patten has been promoted to the role of vice president of operations. Patten has been with Chattem for over 10 years and previously served as director of plant operations.
Winn named to Top 40 list
Tiffany Grant Winn was recently selected as one of Southwest Georgia's Top 40 Under 40.
The awards were presented at the annual Albany Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon in Albany, Ga.
She is the daughter of Jim and Phyllis Grant of Chattanooga and a 1998 graduate of Ringgold High School.
Upon earning her civil and environmental engineering degree from Georgia Tech, she earned her master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is employed as a technical engineer with Proctor & Gamble Paper Products Co. in Albany. She is married to Bradley Winn.
Gaines inducted into Hall of Fame
The Tennessee Credit Union League and Volunteer Corporate Credit Union recently inducted Thomas F. Gaines III into the Tennessee Credit Union Hall of Fame at the TCUL Annual Convention and Expo in Chattanooga.
Induction into the Hall of Fame is awarded to recognize the commitment, leadership and dedication that deserving individuals from the state have made to the credit union movement.
Gaines has over 38 years of service to the credit union system. He has served as the president and chief executive of the TCUL and its three subsidiaries since 1988.
Daniel Fell picked on judging panel
Daniel Fell, executive vice president at Neathawk Dubuque & Packett, has been selected to join the judging panel for the 2012 Healthcare Internet Hall of Fame.
"I'm very honored to have been asked to serve on such a prestigious industry awards panel," said Fell.
As an inaugural panel member, he will select the 2012 Healthcare Internet Hall of Fame inductee class in three categories: innovative individuals, innovative provider organizations and innovative products and services.
Kezdi receives designation
Merrill Lynch has announced that Ken Kezdi of the Chattanooga office has completed the Charted Adviser in Philanthropy program and received the CAP designation
The designation, awarded by the American College, is designed to provide advisers and nonprofit gift planners with a common body of knowledge and a common credential to better serve donors and clients. The graduate-level courses provide insights into the process of philanthropic planning, including but not limited to tax, tools and techniques.
"Ken's specialized training is a reflection of his deep knowledge of the industry, as well as his dedication to help clients reach their financial goals," said Tyson Moore, complex director.
LBMC named to workplace list
LBMC, which offers accounting, tax and investment services with offices in Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Nashville, has been named by the Nashville Business Journal as one of the "Best Places to Work."
LBMC was recognized in the large business category for its commitment to developing a culture of open communication and understanding among its employees.
