Vision Hospitality Group associates recently received statewide recognition from the Tennessee Hospitality Association at its 25th annual Stars of the Industry Gala for their leadership and professional achievement.

Local distinguished award recipients are:

• Mary Alice Johnson - Holiday Inn Express Chattanooga/Downtown, General Manager of the Year, Hotel Under 100 Rooms.

• Veronica DeShae Rogers - Fairfield Inn & Suites Cleveland, Tenn., Outstanding Manager of the Year, Hotels Under 100 Rooms.

• Joseph Barney - Hilton Garden Inn Chattanooga/Downtown, Guest Relations Award, Lodging.

"Every day, our associates continue to amaze me with their dedication," said Vision chief executive Mitch Patel.


Flowers joins TVIA advisers

Financial adviser Jeff Flowers has joined Tennessee Valley Investment Advisors located at Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union.

The addition of Flowers will help TVIA grow and expand its depth of investment services while also allowing it to continue its tradition of offering personalized, unbiased guidance to clients, said W. Blake Strickland, TVFCU's chief executive.

"I believe his commitment to offering personal service and trusted guidance aligns with our firm's values and vision to put clients' best interests first," said Strickland.

Flowers brings 10 years of local financial services experience to TVIA.


O'Shea joins Crye-Leike

Realtor Ian O'Shea has been appointed as the new managing broker of Crye-Leike's North Georgia Office in Fort Oglethorpe.

"After more than two decades spent working in the real estate services industry, I don't think I have ever been more excited about the future," O'Shea said.

Since 1989, he has been a licensed Realtor. Prior to moving back home to the Chattanooga area, he worked with Garden Lakes Realty Co. from 1989-2010, serving as a broker and vice president of sales management. He most recently served as an associate broker with Prudential Realty from June 2010 to June 2012.


MetLife Auto appoints Pritt

MetLife Auto & Home has appointed Jona Pritt as a sales agent in Chattanooga.

Life Care Centers gives awards

Life Care Centers of America recently made awards for excellence at its headquarters in Cleveland, Tenn.

Kayla Carter was named Youth Volunteer of the Year from Life Care Center of Hixson. Presidents Award winners included Robert Hubbartt, executive director at Life Care Center of Athens, Tenn., and Travis Hillis, executive director at Life Care Center of Tullahoma, Tenn., for the Eastern Division.

"The winners of these awards - for performance and volunteerism - reflect the professional skill and the heart for service demonstrated daily by thousands of people across our company," said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president.


Tyler Eubanks joins Hutton Co.

Chattanooga-based Hutton Co. has named Tyler Eubanks as a real estate/development assistant.

He will be providing support to all departments, working with development and site acquisitions and all other real estate functions.

Eubanks graduated from Lakeview High School. He presently attends Dalton College where he is working on a degree in business management.

"The Hutton Co. is fortunate to attract sleeping talent and Tyler is just that, with such an impressive work ethic," said chief executive Karen Hutton.


Cowan heads Cleveland hotel

Tim Cowan has been named general manager of the Comfort Inn & Suites in Cleveland, Tenn.

Cowan comes to the property with a diverse background in sales and management to support both the advancement of customer service as well as the employment of strategic business methods.

A graduate of Lee University, Cowan established his career upon a foundation of effective communication and leadership with Aaron's in Chattanooga in 2005.

"He will make a great addition to the Comfort Inn & Suites as well as Vision Hospitality Group," said Vision Regional Director of Operations Jeff Mochel.


Dr. Brown joins with Dr. Stone

Dr. Dale Brown has joined the medical practice of Dr. John L. Stone at Chattanooga Retina on Gunbarrel Road. Brown is a retina vitreous ophthalmologist who treats macular degeneration, retinal detachments, retinal tears and diabetic retinopathy.

Brown earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and his undergraduate degree in biology from UAB. His ophthalmology residency was at the University of Maryland Medical System. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology and the Tennessee Academy of Ophthalmology.


BlueCross gets website award

The Web Marketing Association has honored the Chattanooga-based BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee with its Outstanding Website Award for the insurer's BlueAccess member portal.

The BlueAccess website features a personalized welcome page, benefit information and claims details, health and wellness messages and a provider directory to help BlueCross' 3 million members in Tennessee.

"The site provides our members with a superior user experience and makes it easier for them to make informed decisions about health and wellness," said Trevin Bernarding, director of eBusiness development.

Each year, the WebAwards Competition receives more than 2,000 entries, and awards are given to the companies or organizations with the best websites. BlueCross was one out of five winners selected by judges for the Web Marketing Association based upon design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use.
