Name: Cambridge Square

Location: The Ooltewah development is along Lee Highway next to the Honors Golf Course.

Size: 135 acres, including residential, retail and office development

Developer: Barrier Properties

Builder: Barry Payne

Designers: River Street Architecture

Status: Independent Healthcare Properties moved into the first office building in the complex in March. Two other two-story buildings, each about 11,000 square feet, are being finished nearby to frame the new town square where nearly a dozen buildings and properties will be developed in the first phase of the project. "To celebrate these first new buildings, we're planning an open house on the square in mid May," said Jim Cheney, marketing manager for Barrier Properties, the company developing Cambridge Square.

Announced businesses: Lupi's and Southern Burger are locating restaurants; Independent Healthcare Properties has relocated its corporate headquarters to the site.

Residential development: Starting this fall, Cheney said plans will be laid out for residential lots to be developed near the golf course behind the new commercial development.
