Langhorne named CFO of Hutton Co.

Hutton Co. has named Rick Langhorne as its chief financial officer.

"Rick's vast experience, skill set and relationships within the real estate industry are going to be a tremendous addition to our management team," said Geoff Smith, president of Hutton. "We will be able to better serve our retail clients through his expertise."

Langhorne spent 19 years with Jim Wilson & Associates and Ronus Properties, where he oversaw the development, financing, acquisition and disposition of real estate assets totaling over 2 billion dollars. He also spent 11 years with Price Waterhouse in the real estate industry services group.

He has 30 years of experience in accounting, finance and real estate and is a certified public accountant.


Krebs wins two franchisee awards from company

Bruce Krebs, president of the Entrepreneurs' Source franchise in Chattanooga, has won two prestigious awards from the parent company. During the company's annual conference last month in Florida, Krebs won the Top Performer Award and the the Outstanding Coaching Contributions award.

The Entrepreneurs' Source has been in business for 27 years helping people find the right franchise or business opportunity for them. There are 275 Entrepreneurs' Source offices across the country. Krebs has owned the local franchise for 10 years and has consistently been the top performer and coach.


Three join Henderson Hutcherson & McCullough

Henderson Hutcherson & McCullough, PLLC, a local accounting firm that has provided accounting, tax planning, management consulting and specialized services since 1981, has added Stephen Buchanan, Josh Jolley, and Dakota Williams as staff accountants.

Buchanan joined HHM's accounting and auditing department shortly after graduating with honors from Lee University. During college he gained international experience with a microfinancing internship in East Africa through the Danish Refugee Council.

Prior to joining HHM, Jolley spent more than three years as Lee University's first accounting and budget coordinator. In that role he translated raw financial data into big picture thinking, which was crucial for making strategic, university-wide decisions.

Williams joined HHM shortly after graduating from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Before graduation, Williams worked two years at a local accounting firm handling bookkeeping and preparing tax returns. He also completed an internship in HHM's processing department during his final semester at UTC.


Trammel joins local Girls Inc.

Chattanooga Girls Inc. has named Phil Trammell as chief advancement officer. Trammell brings more than 25 years experience in fundraising and marketing. Most recently, he was the chief advancement officer for Texas Women's University and director of the university's foundation.

"Girls are one of the nation's most valuable resources and Girls Inc. helps Hamilton County girls develop the skills and experiences to become successful," Trammell said.

Founded in 1961, Girls Inc. offers educational in-school, afterschool, and school break programming for girls ages 6-18.


BlueCare Tennessee joins with faith groups

BlueCare Tennessee, a subsidiary of BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, has set a goal of partnering with more than 1,000 faith-based institutions to reduce racial, ethnic and other health disparities throughout Tennessee with its "Lifting Our Members" health information toolkit.

With the campaign in its third week, BlueCare has already partnered with more than 200 houses of worship.

"The faith leader's voice can be powerful in promoting good health,' said Rafielle Freeman, director of quality improvement for BlueCare. "Just as they encourage and lift their members' spiritually, they can help us take those health disparity populations to higher levels of understanding about their role in better health."

The National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases publishes annual immunization rates for children between the ages of 19 and 35 months and only 21 percent of African-American children and only 11 percent of Hispanic children in Tennessee received their recommended immunizations last year, according to BlueCare.


Ross Chiropractic adds three to staff

Ross Chiropractic Clinic has added three people to its staff, according to John Ross.

Melissa C. Taylor, a licensed massage therapist, is a 2009 graduate of Miller-Motte Technical College School of Massage graduating with an associate's degree in applied sciences.

Courtney Cox-Grimes, an LMT, graduated from the massage therapy program at Georgia Career Institute in McMinnville, Tenn., in 2012.

Teresa A. Rankin is front office manager. She worked 14 years with Chattanooga Spine and Nerve in Chattanooga.


Dr. Michael Crowe wins award

Dr. Michael Crowe, on-site physician at Life Care Center of Collegedale, was named Physician of the Year for Life Care Centers of America's Eastern Division.

The award was given during a ceremony held at Life Care Centers of America's headquarters in Cleveland, Tenn., as part of the company's annual Physicians' Symposium. Six other divisional award winners and a company-wide winner were also honored.

Crowe came to the facility in October 2012, becoming the first on-site physician in any of Life Care Centers of America's 26 skilled nursing and rehab centers in Tennessee.

"Physicians play a pivotal role in the care of our residents," said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president.


Dr. Matthew Rider joins Siskin

Dr. Matthew Rider has joined Siskin Hospital as medical director of the hospital's stroke rehabilitation program. By specializing in the rehabilitation of individuals with neurological disorders, Dr. Rider will provide leadership to the treatment team.

"Dr. Rider brings to us an additional level of training and interest in stroke rehabilitation, enabling him to further develop our stroke continuum of care," said Dr. David Bowers, medical director at Siskin Hospital.

Patients can also be seen by Dr. Rider on an outpatient basis at Siskin Spine and Rehabilitation Specialists, the physician office located at Siskin Hospital. Kathi Potts, administrator at Siskin Spine and Rehabilitation Specialists praised Rider's passion for stroke patients, coupled with his warm and caring demeanor.

Dr. Rider is a native of Elkhart, Indiana and received his Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree from Freed-Hardeman University, where he majored in Biology. He attended Indiana University School of Medicine, where he graduated with Honors, receiving the Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his transitional internship, as well as his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Dr. Rider gained international medical experience as a volunteer for Haiti Medical Missions and Guyana Medical Missions. Additionally, he has volunteered at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana, helping improve acute care patient processes.


Todd Tindall named to President's Club

Todd Tindall, a senior vice president of investments and a financial advisor in the Chattanooga office of Raymond James & Associates Inc. has been named to the 2012 President's Club at Raymond James.

The President's Club is one of the firm's highest honors give to financial advisors recognizing their accomplishments and service to their clients over the calendar year.

Tindall is a Baylor School alumnus and a 1985 graduate of the University of Tennessee. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, focusing on wealth management for high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients.
