Thompson names Hawkins

Thompson Engineering has named Harry Hawkins as manager of its Tennessee operations.

He most recently was manager of technical training at Chattanooga State Community College.

"Harry brings more than 25 years of experience in the civil engineering and construction fields to our company," said Mike Manning, senior vice president of business development.

Hawkins, who began his new post Sept. 16, led several successes at Chattanooga State, including increasing enrollment in engineering and science youth programs and working with local companies to jumpstart the school's Heavy Equipment Operators program.

"As a Tennessee resident, I'm excited to be a part of a strong firm with the integrity of Thompson Engineering," said Hawkins.


McLean joins PrimeLending

Dallas-based residential mortgage originator PrimeLending, a Plains Capital company, has added Jill McLean as a loan officer at the PrimeLending office located at 7446 Shallowford Road, Suite 102B, in Chattanooga.

She brings more than 22 years of mortgage industry experience to PrimeLending. She comes to PrimeLending after working at BB&T in Chattanooga.

Now serving as a mortgage loan originator with PrimeLending, she will work with residents in the community on purchase and refinance mortgage loans.

"The primary focus for PrimeLending is the purchase market with over 400 mortgage products available. PrimeLending is dedicated to making every customer's home loan experience a positive and successful one," the company said.


Brame forms LTC Business Insurance

Richard Brame is the owner of the newly formed LTC Business Insurance LLC in Ooltewah.

LTC offers health, property, liability and workers compensation insurance.

The focus of LTC is to help mid-sized companies deal with the changing insurance landscape, especially the health insurance changes brought about by Obamacare.

"The complexity of Obamacare will create the need for business owners to re-evaluate their insurance needs," said Brame. Mr. Brame has been in the nursing home business for 30 years, and for the past 10 years has been a director of Diversicare Inc., a Nashville-based nursing home company.
