BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has selected Lisa Slattery as vice president of quality management for all lines of business.
In this role, Slattery will lead BlueCross' clinical quality programs and further develop data-driven strategies to augment provider collaboration efforts and member engagement. Slattery also will direct the strategic efforts of Blue-Cross' accreditation processes. She will report to Dr. Andrea Willis, chief medical officer for Blue-Cross.
"Lisa's background in compliance oversight, quality management and patient care will be instrumental in driving our quality efforts," said Willis. "She is a proven leader with a focus on aligning our strengths and resources to provide the best outcomes for members."
Slattery most recently served as chief quality and compliance officer with MedHOK Healthcare Solutions, LLC, in Tampa, Fla. There she developed business partnerships and provided oversight for clinical, quality and compliance software modules.
Christa Mannarino will serve as director of development and external relations at Girls Preparatory School. Mannarino, who currently serves as director of development for UTC's College of Engineering and Computer Science, has a history of work in local nonprofits and in local civic action initiatives with the Chattanooga Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and Chattanooga Venture.

Since 2012, Mannarino has worked closely with LaunchTN and CoLab, business incubators that promote innovation and entrepreneurism.
Mannarino holds a bachelor's degree in fine arts from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a professional facilitator and holds the international Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRC) certification.
Jennifer Hislop, diversity and programs specialist at Volkswagen Group of America, has joined the board of the Southern Automotive Women's Forum (SAWF).
The board is tasked with increasing membership and continuing to further the organization's mission of promoting education and scholarships, in addition to personal and professional advancement of women in the automotive industry.
Luann J. Crane, with Guardian Wealth Management, Inc., a comprehensive wealth management firm, has been named the company's chief compliance officer. She also has earned the internationally recognized Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional designation from the Compliance Certification Board. Crane was awarded a Certificate of Achievement in the Investment Advisor Core Compliance Program sponsored by National Regulatory Services, a national leader in compliance standards for the financial services industry.

Alexian Brothers announced that Amy Rains, MSN, APRN, FNP, has joined the team as nurse practitioner. She will be responsible for participants in the program of all-inclusive care for the elderly (PACE), which helps geriatric patients avoid isolation by providing social and medical care while they live in their own homes. PACE is an alternative to nursing home placement.
Most recently, Rains worked as a nurse manager at Memorial North Park Emergency Center. Before accepting the position at Alexian Brothers, Rains received her certification as Family Nurse Practitioner Certified (FNP-C) from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She holds a bachelor's degree in nursing with a minor in psychology from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a master's degree in nursing from Southern Adventist University.
Dr. Mohsin Ali recently joined the Mental Health Cooperative (MHC) as a psychiatrist to serve the newly opened Chattanooga and Cookeville, Tenn., locations.
Board certified in both psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry, Ali brings more than 12 years of psychiatric clinical experience with children and adults in various settings including private practice, community mental health, psychiatric hospital and medical consultations.
"Dr. Ali is exactly the type of physician we were looking for, one you would want to bring your own child or family member to see," said Pam Womack, CEO and founder of the Nashville-based MHC.
Vincent B. Vaughn, SRA, AI-RRS, has been awarded the AI-RRS (Appraisal Institute-Residential Review Specialist) designation from the Appraisal Institute. Vaughn held the SRA designation for 25 years prior to receiving this latest designation. He is the first real-estate appraiser in Tennessee and second in Georgia to receive the AI-RRS designation.
Vaughn began his real estate appraisal career in 1977 and now owns and operates Vaughn Appraisal Service in Chattanooga. He also has spent the last three years working as a nationwide forensic and retrospective review appraiser with Fannie Mae in Dallas ,helping to recover some of the funds lost in the economic downturn.
Stephani J. Ryan has been named director of the Choices program department of BlueCare Tennessee, while Melissa Scissom will fill Ryan's previous post as director of the Cover Tennessee program.
Both Choices and Cover Tennessee are government programs administered through contracts with the state of Tennessee. Ryan was previously director of Cover Tennessee, while Scissom was manager of operations.

Two Erlanger Life Force clinical base managers and flight nurses, Troy Holder and Shane Noe, have received the highly regarded designation of Certified Medical Transport Executive (CMTE) by the Association of Air Medical Services.
Holder and Noe join two other Erlanger Life Force crew members and approximately 300 other individuals world wide who have earned CMTE status.
To be eligible for this certification, applicants must participate in a rigorous educational program over the course of two years, pass a comprehensive written examination and satisfactorily complete a team project related to a timely industry challenge. By attaining this designation, Holder and Noe have demonstrated skills in leadership and expertise in critical care transport management.

Bill Thompson has been named the new executive chef of Porter's Steakhouse, located at the Sheraton Read House.
Thompson began his culinary career in a European style apprenticeship run by the American Culinary Federation. He spent three years training and learning advanced techniques.
Thompson comes to Porter's directly from New Orleans, where he served as banquet chef for the Loews New Orleans Hotel.
Jen Prpich, general manager of Porter's and Sheraton Read House, said Thompson's European-style training and attention to fresh ingredients and makes him the perfect fit for Porter's.
