History: Noon Development, owned by Todd Phillips and John Foy, bought the circa- 1920s building from Erlanger Health System for $4 million in October.
Scope: The first floor will be retail; the second floor will be devoted to Tech Town; the third floor will be occupied by Erlanger. Tech Town, owned and founded by Paul Cummings, is a youth-focused technology and entrepreneurial learning center with a coding studio, film-making studio and robotics lab space. Students will be able print 3-D objects and sell them in the Tech Town store. Chattanooga will be the flagship location for a national chain that Tech Town leaders aim to create with eventual locations in Seattle, Norfolk, Va., New Orleans, Chicago and Washington D.C.
Schedule: Tech Town is scheduled to open in late June. Around 8,500 square feet of space on the first floor is still available for leasing.
