E.J. Pelton, CPA, local tax, bookkeeping and business consultants, has hired Rich Stophel as its bookkeeping and business consulting associate.

Stophel brings several years experience in business and bookkeeping. Prior to joining E.J. Pelton, Stophel worked at Larry Stophel and Associates for nearly 10 years.

Stophel has degrees from Bethel University and Chattanooga State.

Unum taps 2 as assistant VPs

Unum has promoted Tamra VanAllen to assistant vice president and pricing actuary and Daniel Gregory to assistant vice president of business planning and analysis.

In her new role, VanAllen will oversee the pricing and experience analysis of the company's voluntary benefits products and services. VanAllen has been with Unum for 12 years. She has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Southern Adventist University.

In his new role, Gregory will manage the financial statement planning and monthly analysis for the group products portfolio. Gregory has been with Unum since 2007. He is a certified public accountant. Prior to joining the company, he worked at Ernst & Young in Chattanooga. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.

Reese joins The Chattanoogan

The Chattanoogan, a Benchmark Hotel and the city's only AAA Four Diamond-rated full-service property, has hired Casey Reese as the new wedding and event specialist. Reese is responsible for coordinating and managing weddings and social events at the upscale hotel.

Reese previously served as the heart gala volunteer liaison for the American Heart Association's annual gala in Knoxville. She was responsible for recruiting and supervising volunteers and assisting with the event. During college, Reese was a student recruiter in the University of Tennessee's undergraduate admissions department.

Marshall joins Full Media

Internet marketing and website development company, Full Media, has hired Ben Marshall to join its sales team in Chattanooga.

Marshall comes to Full Media with a degree in communication arts from Bryan College and seven years' experience working in sales and management. Prior to Full Media, he worked as a branch manager at one of the nation's largest car rental companies, a position that allowed him to gain experience in sales, managing growth, developing a team, customer service and running a profitable operation.

Founded in 2008, Full Media also has offices in Gainesville, Ga., Greenville, S.C., and Atlanta.

Life Care adds Gooch as VP

Mark Gooch was recently promoted to vice president of business intelligence and process improvement for Life Care Centers of America.

Gooch earned both bachelor's and master's degrees from Southern Adventist University. Prior to joining Life Care in 2008, he held positions of increasing responsibility within the long-term care and financial areas.
