Plastic Surgery Group has opened an office at Erlanger East near Hamilton Place Mall.

Dr. Jimmy Waldrop will see patients weekly at 1751 Gunbarrel Rd., Suite G-11, in a space shared with University Surgical Associates. He will continue the same level of board-certified care that Plastic Surgery Group has been providing at Erlanger since 1958.

"The focus of my practice is to improve the self esteem of my patients through cosmetic surgery and to restore lost form and function in the case of traumatic injury or following cancer surgery," Dr. Waldrop said.

Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Waldrop is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Following medical school, he completed general surgery residency and a surgical critical care/trauma fellowship at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He subsequently completed a comprehensive plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Erlanger. After completion of surgical training, he joined Plastic Surgery Group, PC. He is an assistant professor in the department of plastic surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine-Chattanooga and is actively involved in the training of plastic surgery residents.

Plastic Surgery Group also includes Dr. Larry Sargent, Dr. Mark Brzezienski, Dr. Woody Kennedy and Dr. Jason Rehm.

Kristin Bell joins Southeastern Trust Co.

Southeastern Trust Co., a division of FSG Bank, N.A., has added Kristin Bell to its investment team as vice president and portfolio manager. She brings more than 17 years of experience in investment related analysis, trading, and portfolio management, including roles at Unum Group, Wachovia Bank and Fidelity Investments.

"Southeastern Trust is committed to providing superior service to our clients throughout the country," said Bart Rolen, managing director. "Kristin is a valuable addition to our team, and our clients will enjoy the expertise and service she brings to their relationship."

Bell is located at 531 Broad St. in downtown Chattanooga.

Maedel heads Hullco sales

John Maedel has joined Hullco Exteriors as sales manager, overseeing the company's team of sales consultants. While new to the home improvement business, Maedel is not new to sales or customer service. Prior to joining Hullco, he served as general manager for The Athletic Shop and spent 14 years with the Chattanooga Lookouts, last serving as vice president.

Maedel came to Chattanooga in 2000 and now resides with his wife, Brooke, on Signal Mountain with their son, Mitchell.

Thompson joins Thrive 2055

Ruth Thompson has been named communications and outreach manager for the greater Chattanooga tri-state regional growth initiative, Thrive 2055.

Thompson joins the Thrive 2055 team after serving nine years as marketing and events coordinator with the city's Outdoor Chattanooga division. As the self-titled "Cheerleader for Chattanooga's Outdoors," Thompson led community public relations and communications efforts promoting an outdoor lifestyle for Chattanooga and the surrounding region.

"Now that Thrive 2055 is transitioning from a planning initiative into tangible actions, we were looking for a strong communicator to tell the world about this remarkable place and promote the great things we are doing as a region," said Bridgett Massengill, project manager for Thrive 2055.

Thompson grew up in Maryville, Tenn., and graduated from Maryville College. Her background includes traveling the Southeast as a professional actor and managing Hard Rock Cafés and a small fine dining restaurant in the Great Lakes region.
