Project: Retail storefronts in North Chattanooga

Location: 502 North Market Street at the corner of Market and Bush Streets, just north of the North Chattanooga Publix.

Developer: Pryor Bacon

Size: 6,437 square feet of space for three stores

Initial tenant: GNC store

Parking: 18 spaces

Schedule: A construction permit was granted by the city in March for work to begin on the vacant lot. GNC should open by September and the owners are looking for two other retailers to fill the rest of the single-story building.

Scope: An earlier plan to build residential condominiums above the first floor retail shops was abandoned in favor of allocating space and parking for three retail storefronts.

Appeal: "The North Shore is extremely popular right now and the Publix next door is a big draw for that shopping center," Bacon said.
