Fast Break Athletics is moving from its longtime location on Cherokee Boulevard down the road into a new commercial development.

Joey Howe, manager of the athletic shoe and apparel store, said plans hopefully are to move into the new North Shore development at 300 Cherokee Blvd. by Dec. 1.

"Definitely by the end of the year," he said. "We're working on the build-out now. We're excited. It has great parking and high visibility on Cherokee Boulevard."

Howe said the retailer has been at its current 19 Cherokee Blvd. location for more than seven years. That building, which it is leasing, is for sale, he said.
